Blueprint is a weekend-long learnathon and hackathon for local high school students held at MIT's campus. Learn from MIT students, make new friends, and build something cool!
Over the course of Blueprint, you'll form a team, decide on a project, and develop it from start to finish with the support of our mentors. After Blueprint you'll have not only this project, but also the tools to learn more about programming on your own and take your skills even further.

Blueprint is for high school students. Experience in programming is not required for the learnathon, but strongly encouraged for the hackathon. The iOS and web tracks require a basic knowledge of programming fundamentals, and the StartHacking track is designed for first time coders.
Teams are a great way to meet new people or bond with friends, so we highly recommend them! Don't worry if you don't have a team now; we'll have team formation and ideation sessions at the beginning of Blueprint so you can find some pals. Teams can be up to four people.
If you're a college student or professional interested in helping teach high schoolers for Blueprint, head over to our mentorship form.
Bring a photo ID and a laptop (and charger!). We'll provide breakfast, lunch, dinner, swag, and everything else you need.
Blueprint will be held on MIT’s campus. The Learnathon on Saturday will be held in the Ray and Maria Stata Center and the Hackathon on Sunday will be held at the MIT Media Lab. Follow the signs in the lobby to the event!
Nope! We'll cover meals, snacks, drinks, a Blueprint t-shirt, and an unforgettable experience :) We can't reimburse travel or overnight lodging costs, though. Hotels near MIT include the Kendall Hotel and the Marriott.
Parking is free on a first-come, first-serve basis on weekends in several lots: the 65 Waverly Street Lot, the W98 Lots, and the W91 Lot. There is also some metered parking on Vassar Street. MIT Facilities' list of pay lots near campus can be found here.
Nope! You can attend either one or both days.
We'll provide food for all meals from Saturday's breakfast to Sunday's lunch. We'll do our best to accommodate all allergies and dietary restrictions as well.
Blueprint is a student-only event from check-in on. We're grateful for your parents' support of our program!
